Photograph your notes.
Know exactly what to revise in 15 minutes today.

FacilStudy turns a photo of your notes into flashcards, quizzes and a daily plan — across every subject, working back from your next test. It decides what to study, for how long, and tells you why.

Parent or tutor? See progress without reading their messages

An illustration of the FacilStudy home screen on a phone, showing today's 15-minute study plan with a Biology test in four days: Photosynthesis (Biology, needs work, 5 min), Simultaneous equations (Maths, review due, 6 min) and Macbeth Act 2 (English Literature, keep it fresh, 4 min).

How it works

Three steps. Then the app decides.

You do the first two once per set of notes. The third is fifteen minutes a day.

1

Photograph your notes

Up to six pages in one scan — handwriting, textbook pages, worksheets. One scan is one topic.

2

Check the study pack

FacilStudy writes a summary, key concepts, flashcards and a quiz. You see it before it is saved, and can fix anything it got wrong.

3

Study for fifteen minutes

Open the app and Today's Study is already decided: which topics, for how long, and why — due reviews, weak topics and the test that is closest.

What you get

Everything a revision session needs, in one app.

Free covers the daily plan. Plus adds the exam-aware engine and the tutor.

Today's Study, already decided

The plan mixes every subject: reviews that are due, topics marked needs work, and whatever your next test needs most. Each line says why it is there.

Free

Scan handwriting, not just textbooks

Six pages per scan. FacilStudy reads the notes, works out the subject and topic, and shows you the pack to check before it saves anything.

Free

Flashcards that come back at the right time

Spaced repetition decides the interval from how well you answered, so the cards you find hard come round sooner.

Free

Quizzes, and written answers marked with feedback

Multiple choice, true/false and fill-the-gap from your own notes. On Plus, longer written answers come back marked against a rubric with what to add.

Plus

An exam planner that counts down

Add a test date and the plan works backwards from it, front-loading the topics you are weakest on.

Plus

A tutor that guides before it answers

Ask about anything in your packs. It gives a hint first and the full answer after two attempts — schoolwork only, and every message is checked before and after the model sees it.

FAQ

Questions students and parents ask

If something is not here, email hello@facilstudy.com and a human will reply.

Who is FacilStudy for?

UK secondary students from 13 up. It is built first for Years 9–11 working towards GCSEs, but it works for A-Levels and for anyone revising from their own notes.

Will it read my handwriting?

That is the main thing it is built to do — photos of handwritten notes, not just typed pages or textbooks. Every scan goes to a review screen first, so if it misreads the subject, the topic or a flashcard, you fix it in a few taps before anything is saved. Six pages per scan, and a scan that fails does not count against your allowance.

What is actually in a study pack?

A short summary, the key concepts from your notes, a set of flashcards and a quiz of six to twelve questions. On Plus you also get longer written questions that come back marked against a rubric.

How does the daily plan decide what to study?

It looks across every subject at once: flashcards due for review, topics scored as needs work, and how close your next test is. It picks about fifteen minutes’ worth and shows the reason next to each item — “review due”, “needs work”, “test soon”. You can always study something else instead.

What happens to the photos of my notes?

They are sent to an AI provider to build the study pack, under a commercial agreement that forbids using them to train models. FacilStudy keeps the compressed images for 30 days after the pack is ready, then deletes them. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time from Settings, or at facilstudy.com/delete-account.

Is the AI tutor safe for a 14-year-old?

It only discusses schoolwork, and it guides with a hint before it gives an answer. Every message is checked before and after the model sees it. If a student seems to need a real person rather than a tutor, it stops and points to Childline on 0800 1111, and to 999 in an emergency. Tutor conversations are never shared with a study partner.

What can a parent see?

Only if the student invites them, and only what the student shares: streak, time studied, mastery per subject, topics that need attention and upcoming tests. Not the tutor chats, not the photos, not individual answers. The student can revoke access at any time from the app. Parents sign in at facilstudy.com/partner with a six-digit email code.

How do payments work for someone under 18?

Plus is £4.99 a month and Pro is £9.99 a month, both bought through the App Store or Google Play. The student starts the purchase and the family organiser approves it — Ask to Buy on iOS, purchase approval on Google Play. The paywall in the app is written for a parent to read: what it costs, what it changes, and how to cancel. It renews automatically until cancelled in your store settings.

Is FacilStudy free?

Yes, to start. The Free plan gives five scans a month, the study packs and quizzes they produce, and the 15-minute daily plan, with no card and no trial that expires. Plus (£4.99 a month) adds 40 scans, the exam planner, the AI tutor, marked written answers and Study Partner. Pro (£9.99 a month) has 100 scans and 400 tutor messages.

Does it work with AQA, Edexcel, OCR and other exam boards?

Yes, because the study pack is built from your own notes rather than a generic question bank, so it follows whatever your teacher taught for your board. It works the same for A-Levels, Scottish Nationals and Highers, and for anyone revising from notes they already have.

How is it different from Quizlet or Anki?

Those tools are excellent once you have a deck. FacilStudy removes the setup: the flashcards and quiz come from a photo of your notes, and the daily plan decides what to review across every subject, working back from your next test. You can still read every card and change any that are wrong before they are saved.

Longer answers on revision itself are in the guides for students and parents. Read the full Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
